Apple's clever reason to not release iMessage for Android

For years, Android users have been practically begging Apple to unleash their exclusive messaging app, iMessage on the Google Android operating system and even with the benefits of additional users, Apple has stood its ground and says no.

According to The Verge, a senior executive at Apple explained that the reason why iMessage will not be released for Android is for two reasons.

"Apple considers its own user base of 1 billion active devices to provide a large enough data set for any possible AI learning the company is working on" wrote The Verge.

Also, another reason that the senior executive said was that since iMessage, one of the most popular messaging apps in the world is only exclusive to Apple and helps boost sales of all Apple products for giving a special feature for users who buy iPhones.

If Apple was to open up iMessage to Android users, they would be risking a boost of sales for Android phones since you can get a less expensive phone for close to the same features.

Well, this is true though, Apple has stayed ahead in the game for so long because of iMessage, iTunes, premium design and the iSight camera. If they were to remove iMessage from the Apple exclusive list, they will lose customers who don't need iTunes, a premium feel or a good camera.

Even though the release of Apple's response to Spotify, Apple Music on Android has allowed Android users to experience Apple's superior music database, iMessage is a completely different product which has some of the best encryption technology that Apple might fear will be ruined by Android's open-source infrastructure.

What do you think? Does Apple fear for the security of iMessage encryption or is this a clever business thing?
